And plans change yet again!
I want to start this post by apologizing to Evil Homer. I had planned to play on a team with him for the WargamesCon team tournament, and not that is bust. Sorry to leave you hanging.
That was the plan. Started working on a guard army to take to the Con but school and personal issues are telling me that it just isn't the best idea. I am more than likely taking Trig in the summer, and I would have to miss at least one day of school and a weekend of homework time to make it to the tourney. I just don't think that is a wise decision.
So, no WargamesCon means I have no immediate need to finish my guard. I am not going to stop playing them, I really do enjoy the army. It just means I can let my mind be drawn to other projects if I want, an d boy do I want. The announcement several weeks ago of the resurrection of Confrontation by Legacy Miniatures has me wanting to work on something a bit more....substantial. So last night I prepped a mini for paint, and I should get some spare time this weekend to put some paint on it. No pics yet, but I will try to get some up for you soon.
My hobby time, or leisure time in general tends to come in hour long spurts right now. I am hoping a single mini will easier to jump into and out of than a large army build that requires dragging out tools, assorted pieces, ect. Stay tuned.

Change of Plans
Slight change of plans. While talking with Evil Homer the other day about our plans for Wargames Con, I realized something. Any of my armies would work for the team tournament as I view that as a mainly fun event. The GT is another thing entirely. I did not feel that any of the armies I currently own were going to give me the chance I wanted. I know, I could go down there and get my tail spanked with this army just as well, but I like my odds a bit better.
So Imperial Guard it is. I have a limited window to complete this army. Since school says I do not have much free time, I had to hit the ground running and get as much done as I can. I took advantage of the local tournament I hosted this past weekend and went on an assembly spree. 3 Chimeras, a Hellhound, a Manticore, and 3 Heavy Weapon teams joined the Chimera, Manticore, Colossus, and 6 Heavy Weapon teams I already had assembled. I topped that off with 2 Vandettas on Sunday. Outside of the weapon teams, I don't think any of them are completely assembled, but they are good enough I can start getting practice games.
I am still waiting on one more Chimera, and I have 60 infantry to build yet. Then I have to decide on a color scheme and get them all painted. We'll see how this goes. I know one thing for sure, my airbrush is going to get quite a workout.

Airbrushing Base Colors: Part II
So I promised some WIPs for my Chaos Marines and I was able to spend some time on them this week. Just as I show here, I have been working with using my airbrush for mass base coats. I am still tinkering with the process, but I am fairly pleased with what I have here. This is pic below is the finished product and what the rank and file of the army will look like.
After the jump I have a walk through on how I did the base color.

Post 100...When is organized too organized..?
Well, I sat down to write a quick post and low and behold this is my 100th post. I would have never thought when I started this blog that I would have made it to 100 post. In addition, I think it is neat the amount of people that come and look at my digital diarrhea and for that I thank you.
So I managed to work in quite a bit of hobby time this weekend. I got all my Chaos Marines stripped and broken down into as small of pieces as I could with out breaking stuff. Saturday I got the parts all separated into the parts that I want to use. Is this a bit over the top?

I Don't Paint Like That No More!!
I have been going through a bit of a funk lately. School is taking a large chunk of my free time so the hobby time has been extremely limited. The problem is, with the limited time I have I am starting to tire of painting black and white on Templar so I have been looking for something different to do. I decided to take a crack at working on my future Chaos Marine army.
See, I have an Emperor's Children army that I started a long time ago. This was my attempt at a fluff based list. It was pretty much done construction and in the painting stages. After a while of playing the army the current codex was released and pretty much torpedoed the army I had constructed. I made several attempts to try to figure out a way to make the army work, but the codex really does not allow for a very good mono-god Slaanesh.
