Infinity: Something to catch my fancy.

So I have been in a funk recently when it comes to gaming. I am starting to bore with my WFB Orcs, but no army peaks my interest to work on at the moment. I don't really feel like playing/working on 40K right now, even though several of the locals are back at it. When I get this way I normally migrate back to Confrontation, but even it does not strike me. So I thought I would take another stab at Infinity.

We have given Infinity a try before at our LGS, but it did not hold. What we saw of the system looked very promising but there was a major issue we stumbled onto. We realized quickly that the game not only requires more terrain than we are used to, but is also required a different type of terrain than we had. With the way the order/reactive order system works in Infinity you need a lot of terrain. In addition to the amount you need plenty of it that blocks line of site. Otherwise it becomes a shooting gallery and that is no fun, or at least it wasn't for us.

So here we are taking another stab at it. Quantity of terrain was never a problem, and I think we have figured out a way to make the quality of terrain we have work with a few house rules. So we will see how it goes. Hopefully it will hold my interest for a while.

Anyway, since I was digging out my stuff I thought I would show you a few of the Yu Jing basic trooper models I painted the last go round. Hope you like them.

I like these a lot. They're somewhat reminiscent of VOID figures to me, but I might be seeing something that's not there.

I am sorry to hear you are in this funk, I know how you feel. I must say, your painting is great, if this is you in a funk, I need to step up my game.
