Confrontation-Wolfen of Yilla

So to continue with what I started I bring you some images of my Wolfen of Yilla. It was an odd set of circumstances that led me to this army. I have sister that works for one of the local apartment complexes. Her job is to make newly emptied apartments ready for new tenants. One day she called and said she found had a bag of stuff that looked like some of the things I played with abandoned in one of the apartments. To my surprise it was a Wal Mart bag full of Wolfen. Some of the models were in poor shape, and I ended up buying a bunch more minis for the army but what can I say. What I did use from that bag were free.

Wolfen Prowler
The Wolfen Prowler is one of those models that just automatically catches your eye.  The design is great and it really portrays a creature stalking watching its prey from afar planning his attack. This is one of the few models from that original bag that made the army. Also one of my favorites.

When I started building this army I told myself I was going to concentrate on the models that I liked and fill in with what was needed. This model is definitely one I liked. Once again the design is great and of course what 14 year old adolescent trapped in a middle aged mans body does not love a great pair of unrealistic tatas.

When building a force in Confrontation you always have to have a "character" to lead the force. The army really has two cost effective ones that I like. One of them I liked was The Watcher which was being used in The Mighty Mighty Carlos' army and the other was Onyx the Prowler. The model you see above is slightly different from the original Rackham model. The copy I had received in the bag of minis was missing the head. Since the Wolfen Warriors box came with some extra heads I simply used one of the extras and my friend sculpted the connection. Unfortunately I never finished this model.

This model is also one of the ones reclaimed from the bag. It is one of my favorites from the Wolfen line which pretty much goes for all the models I use in this army. These wolfen were painted while I was first learning about Non-Metallic Metals or NMM. So there are many weapons that were never painted because I struggled with getting a realistic effect on the large flat surface of the blades.

Wolfen Great Fangs
Wolfen Great Fangs
Wolfen Great Fangs are one of the two profiles that come in the Wolfen Warrior boxed set.  These models were a step up from the original Wolfen Warrior blisters and most of the reason that this army had models that did not come from the bag.

To round out this episode we have Wolfen Warriors. They are the grunts of the Wolfen army. Like the Great Fangs they come from the Wolfen Warrior boxed set and are a step above the original Warriors that were in a blister pack. Like all the other in this list I love these models. Unfortunately they were never finished. I tend to lose focus and models such as these often fall victim to that.

The confrontation range were the best miniatures out there in my opinion, I´m glad they are going to re-release them.

Very work in the minis by the way :)

I know this post is a bit old, but I came here to take another look at your exceptional collection. I absolutely love them!
Are they really going to be re-released?
